Accessibility
Making this site work for everyone.
We want every visitor to be able to read this site, move through it and reach us, whatever device or setting they use. Below: what we’ve checked, how the site is built, what we haven’t tested yet, and how to reach us about a problem.
Last updated
What we’ve checked
We ran these checks on every page of this site, on phone and desktop settings.
- Lighthouse, Google’s automated check: an accessibility score of 100 on every page.
- axe, an automated scan against the WCAG 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2 A and AA rules, with the menus open and closed: no violations found.
- Keyboard: the header menu opens, works and closes with the keyboard alone, and Escape closes it.
- Reduced motion: with your device set to reduce motion, no animation runs on any page. Everything is shown in its final place.
- Touch: the links and buttons in the header are at least 44 pixels on phones.
- Without JavaScript, the header menu still opens and every link in it works.
How it’s built
- Contrast: our colors are chosen so body text is at least 8.84 to 1 against its background, and text in our orange accent at least 5.72 to 1.
- Focus: every link, button and field shows an orange focus style when you reach it with the keyboard.
What we haven’t tested yet
We haven’t yet tested this site with screen readers such as VoiceOver or NVDA, or with zoom and larger text settings, and automated checks can’t catch every problem.
So we don’t claim that the site meets a formal accessibility standard. We claim only what’s listed above.
